Blowpipes are generally associated with tribes using them to catch / kill prey for food. With or without any poison. In TV and films, they are mostly shown using poison darts to try and kill off the ‘good guy’.
Generally (according to the Internet) they are between 3ft and 7ft in length, with the longer size giving more travel distance and power than the shorter ones.
To make. One can drill a long hole, or if one doesn’t have access to a long drill, route out a channel in two pieces of rectangular wood, and glue together before turning. The one above was done by routing the groove, as I don’t have a long drill. The one shown below is separated to show the groove.
